1. Purpose

These Terms of Service (hereinafter the "Terms") govern the use of the TriMates platform (hereinafter the "Platform"), accessible at trimates.fr, which connects athletes for the organisation of triathlon outings (running, cycling, swimming).

2. Acceptance of the Terms

Registering for and using the Platform implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. By ticking the acceptance box during registration, the user acknowledges having read, understood and accepted these Terms.

3. Conditions of access

Access to the Platform is subject to the following conditions:

Registration is free and open to any natural person aged at least 18 years.
The user undertakes to provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering.
Each user may hold only one account.
To create or join an outing, the user must verify their mobile phone number using a one-time code received by SMS. This verification limits fake accounts and strengthens the trust and safety of the community. The SMS is sent via the sub-processor Twilio. Simply browsing the site and the events catalogue is not affected.

4. Description of the service

TriMates is a connection platform that enables users to:

Create sports outings (running, cycling, swimming)
Join outings proposed by other users
Communicate via the chat built into outings
Receive email notifications when an outing matches their profile

5. User responsibilities

The user undertakes to:

Provide truthful information regarding their sports level
Treat other users with respect and behave in a kind manner
Make sure they are physically fit to take part in the proposed activities
Comply with road traffic regulations and safety rules (wearing a helmet when cycling, a buoy in open water, etc.)
Not use the Platform for illegal, fraudulent or malicious purposes
Not post offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate content

6. Limitation of liability

TriMates is a service that connects people only. The Platform:

Does not organise sports outings and does not supervise them
Cannot be held liable for accidents, injuries or damages occurring before, during or after an outing
Does not guarantee the accuracy of information provided by users
Cannot be held liable for users' behaviour

Each participant is solely responsible for their own safety and for their fitness to take part in an outing.

7. Insurance

Each user is strongly encouraged to take out third-party liability insurance covering sporting activities. TriMates does not provide any insurance coverage.

8. "Girls Only" outings

Some outings may be reserved for women. The aim of this feature is to allow women users to feel safe. Access to these outings requires the user to have declared their gender as "Female" in their profile.

9. Intellectual property

All elements making up the Platform (design, code, logo, text) are the property of TriMates and are protected by intellectual property laws.

10. Moderation and sanctions

TriMates reserves the right to:

Remove any content that breaches these Terms
Suspend or delete a user's account in the event of a breach
Report any unlawful conduct to the competent authorities

11. Changes to the Terms

TriMates reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Users will be informed of any change and asked to accept the new Terms in order to continue using the Platform.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
