On a map, you see the sessions proposed around you, you join the one that suits you or propose your own. Each session has its chat to coordinate. What I like: you pick your level and only see suitable sessions, you can follow other athletes to be notified when they organise something, and when you travel, you set an alert on your destination to find people there.
